Delicious Subs Fundraiser!

Hello Ladies!

This is a friendly reminder about¬†our fundraiser at Jersey Mike’s this Saturday from 11am-3pm in Altamonte by Cranes Roost.

All food purchases, regardless of if they are with moms4moms during those hours, counts towards our total numbers. 15% of those sales go back to us. It’s that easy!

If you are willing and want to do me a voluntary favor, I would appreciate if you could put up the following Facebook post to get more people you know in the door. It is the best way to get the word out to the masses.

Please paste the following to Facebook (edit if needed)

PLEASE stop in and purchase sub sandwiches for your family at Jersey Mike’s this Saturday between 11:00 am-3:00 pm at the Altamonte Springs location near Cranes Roost. 15% of the purchases go to support a wonderful ministry I am a part of called Northland Moms4Moms. We would greatly appreciate the support!

And remember our meet-up at Crane’s Roost Park at 11:30. See you then ūüôā

Can You Help?

Hello Ladies!

At our last meeting while Krystie Scamehorn¬†was cleaning up the leftover Freecycle items, she¬†was approached by Pastor Gus Davies’ wife, Jeneba Davies. Mrs. Davies asked¬†her if our moms may be interested to donate baby-related items to a young couple who are expecting their first son very soon.¬†Mrs. Davies did share with¬†her that this couple is very new to the United States and they are currently unemployed.
Facing parenthood for the first time is already FULL of uncertainties, so you can imagine how much more stressful it might be to move to a new country and be unemployed as you welcome your new little one. The couple has a crib and a mattress, but beyond that they have nothing for their new baby. Mrs. Davies is throwing a baby shower for the couple on Sunday October 7th after the 11 AM church service in the fellowship hall where our M4M meetings are held.
If you have any items to donate, please let Krystie know ASAP and¬†she will arrange to pick up those items from you and deliver everything to Mrs. Davies before the baby shower date (10/7).¬† There is a link to some suggested¬† items (new or gently used)¬†below for your convenience.¬† Don’t feel limited by the list, but hopefully it will help you get an idea of what is needed.
Also,¬†Krystie¬†may be able to arrange to bring this new mom some more items after our October meeting, so if you can’t connect with¬†her before 10/7, you can bring your items to our October meeting. Thanks in advance for your generosity in sharing Christ with this family.¬†¬†Krystie’s email address is: scamehok@yahoo.com¬†if you have questions or need¬†her to pick something up.
Thank You!

One Week Away!

Hi Ladies! Our first meeting is just 7 days away. We are so excited to jumpstart the year with almost half of the group as new members!

Here is some information you may need for the first meeting:

1) RSVP for Childcare on the Evite ASAP. We need an accurate count for the meeting and hope to never turn anyone away. We are still looking for childcare workers. See “childcare” page for more information.

2) Keep an eye out for Freecycle, TLC, and Deadline emails.

3) Remember our outreach for the month for Shelley Ballestero’s son. See “outreach” page for details.

4) The planning committee and table hosts will be bringing delicious food for all to enjoy, so skip breakfast!

5) Please do your best to arrive with enough time to drop-off the kids in childcare and join us for the start of our meeting. We even bumped the meeting time a half hour this year from 9:00 to 9:30 ūüôā

6) Watch for the drop-off location on Monday morning for freecycle, outreach, and food drop-offs. It will be there each month for easy arrival.

7) Bring your checkbooks if you owe membership dues and be ready for a “headshot” picture for the directory.

8) Prepare to RELAX and have a great time meeting new people and reconnecting.

Ministry September Outreach

One of our past Moms4Moms guest speakers, Shelly Ballestero, has a son (Angelo) who was recently diagnosed with cancer. After they thought it was just typical “growing pains,” her son Angelo had his leg amputated.¬† She and her family are burdened with the incredible weight of medical bills, so they started a fund in Angelo’s name. Let’s give back to her by collecting money for her and her family at the September Moms4Moms meeting. Table Hosts will have a collection envelope at each table during the meeting, so bring cash or a check (made out to “Moms4Moms”).¬† Please remember that no donation is too small!
